Gee, who'd have thought a late Connor McDavid goal would be the difference? With that out of the way, Matthew Tkachuk finally lit the lamp after a nine game absence from the goal scoring column. Tkachuk would take a penalty that the Flames would kill off and his release from the box couldn't have been more perfect. Tkachuk came flying out of the box and would receive a feed from Sean Monahan that would lead to Tkachuk undressing Mike Smith to give the Flames a 2-1 lead.
