Flames stick with the program, find a way to beat the Avalanche

Dating back to the first round of the playoffs, the Calgary Flames had lost six consecutive meetings with the Colorado Avalanche heading into Monday night’s game in Denver. So you can probably get why the club was excited about their 5-4 overtime victory over the Avalanche.

Following the game, interim head coach Geoff Ward broke down the win chatting with the assembled media.

I thought the guys did a really good job. We were resilient. I thought they did an excellent job sticking with the process. I thought they did an excellent job looking after the little details that we needed to look after.
