Flames re-sign Rinat Valiev to one year contract

The Flames have crossed one item off their offseason to-do list, signing 24 year old RFA defenceman Rinat Valiev to a one year deal.

The news is from his agent, who also reports that it is just a one-year deal. There are no details on whether it’s one-way (one salary for either NHL or AHL) or two-way (different pay depending on whether he’s in the AHL or NHL), or what the AAV is, but given that Valiev was an AHL body, you can likely expect it to be under a million dollars.
