Flames Quiet on Opening Night of NHL Draft

The NHL convened in Dallas for the first night of the Entry Draft and the Calgary Flames were quiet as they didn’t have a pick nor make any trades to make on Friday night.

Coming into the draft it had become abundantly clear that the Flames weren’t likely going to be able to move back into the first round after dealing that pick for Travis Hamonic last summer.

As for the trades, it was somewhat surprising to see almost no trading during the draft with the exception of two pick swaps as well as a player trade in the afternoon which sent Phillip Grubauer to Colorado.
