Midway through round 6 of Wednesday’s NHL draft, the Flames had to announce their qualified RFA’s before the 3 pm MST deadline. 7 players were due to hit RFA status this extended offseason.
Of those 7, Andrew Mangiapane, Oliver Kylington, Glenn Gawdin, and Tyler Parsons were all qualified by the Flames. Mangiapane is up for arbitration, Parsons and Kylington’s future in Calgary is still in question, and Gawdin looks ready to push for an NHL spot.
It appears as though Mark Jankowski’s tumultuous tenure with the Flames is finally over.
