Flames' Ortio dazzles but offence sputters in loss to Kings

“We’re looking for wins, so hopefully he has a great game.”

That’s all Calgary Flames head coach Bob Hartley was asking of masked man Joni Ortio in his first big-league start in nearly four months.

And?

Ortio was great.

But even a 35-save performance wasn’t enough to earn a win in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center.

“We came for two points, and we couldn’t get ’em tonight,” Ortio said. “I think, we as a team, played a pretty solid 60 minutes. We competed. We never let up.
