Flames goalie coach cherishes only NHL crease call

He has the scoresheet, his game-used stick and, of course, all sorts of memories.

Calgary Flames goaltending coach Jordan Sigalet just doesn’t own the league record anymore.

In the basement of his northwest home, you’ll find a couple of keepsakes from Sigalet’s 43-second relief appearance for the Boston Bruins on Jan. 7, 2006.

That turned out to be his only big-league crease call, marking what was the shortest career for an NHL netminder before the Carolina Hurricanes treated equipment man — and emergency backup — Jorge Alves to an eight-second thrill-of-a-lifetime on New Year’s Eve in Tampa.
