Ex-NHLer Dale Purinton charged with burglary: Report

Former NHL defenceman Dale Purinton took a menacing mug shot earlier this week after being arrested for burglary in New York, according to police information in a report by Yahoo Sports.

Purinton, who racked up 578 penalty minutes in 181 games for the New York Rangers in the early 2000s, was taken into custody Wednesday by Oneida County police.

An arrest warrant had been out on Purinton, who faces a first-degree burglary charge stemming from an Aug. 11 assault investigation. According to police, the investigation has revealed the 38-year-old allegedly broke into a Utica, N.
