Alex Halat knows what an Alberta Junior Hockey League franchise means to a community.
He played for the Calgary Royals while his brother Moe suited up for the Calgary Canucks in the mid-1990s.
He’d love to bring AJHL hockey to Chestermere at some point.
Halat doesn’t know when that opportunity might arise, but he wants to get the ball rolling.
“It depends on the support we get within the community,” Halat said. “And if there’s ever a team out there that becomes available.
“Could it be tomorrow? Who knows? Could it be 10 years from now?
