If you’re anything like me then you don’t like the idea of hockey in August and July. You also don’t like the idea of a massive upheaval in the playoff format.
Although there are two sides to viewership: fans who’d like the distraction from COVID, and those who have moved or have hockey as the last thing on their mind. Either way, there won’t be fans in the seats, so a return of NHL hockey will be a strictly TV affair.
I’m fine with them leaving the season and returning when it’s safe. It may not even be next year….
