Calgary Flames G David Rittich named to all-star game

Big Save Dave is an all-star.

The Calgary Flames netminder was named to the all-star game for the Pacific Division Wednesday replacing an injured Arizona Coyotes G Darcy Kuemper.

For Rittich, it’s his first NHL all-star game as he joins fellow Flames Matthew Tkachuk and Mark Giordano. This season, the Flames goalie has posted an 18-11-5 record with a .913 save percentage and a 2.79 GAA.

“I’m playing more than I did before and I feel really good about my game,” Rittich told the Flames website. “I know I had a couple of bad games but most parts of games were good and I feel really good.
