Buddies reunited at Flames camp ... interesting visitors ... family pride

Jared Wilson had many times witnessed the slippery moves and offensive finish — both as an opponent and later a teammate.

So when childhood chum Hunter Shinkaruk notched his first NHL goal during a late-season stint with the Calgary Flames, it certainly didn’t come as a shocker.

“Even growing up, playing against him when I was younger, it was always Operation Shut-Hunter-Down,” said Wilson, who watched Shinkaruk’s memorable marker via live-stream from his room at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, N.Y.

“I knew it was going to come — he’s just such a skilled player.
