Bad luck continues for Senators in loss to Islanders

The losses, and the injuries, are piling up on the Senators.

Where will it stop? Nobody knows.

The Senators were looking for redemption after an ugly 6-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils Thursday as they returned to the Canadian Tire Centre Friday night. While they were better, they weren’t nearly good enough in a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders to open a three-game homestand in front of 18,305.

And, if that wasn’t enough for Ottawa, already without centre Kyle Turris likely until after next week’s NHL all-star break, they lost winger Milan Michalek for a second time this season after he broke a hand blocking a shot in the second period.
