Anaheim Ducks get back to looking more like NHL contenders

It was a graphic example of just how scary the Anaheim Ducks can be once they put it all together.

And make no mistake, they will eventually put it all together.

On Tuesday, the last-place Ducks waddled into a building where the hosts had just set a franchise record with 11 straight wins and strutted out with a 1-0 win.

And they did it with defence — a suffocating system that limited the host Calgary Flames to seven shots after two periods.

No, the Flames weren’t that horrible — the Ducks were that good.

“Best road period of the season for us,” said Ducks assistant coach Rich Preston following a second frame that saw the visitors break a scoreless tie while limiting the Flames to three shots.
