Alexander Nylander could follow father's footsteps to Calgary Flames

There are pictures in the Nylander household of Alexander and his older brother William in the Scotiabank Saddledome dressing room as toddlers.

They were both born in Calgary. William, now a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, took his first steps on an outdoor rink in Banff, which was caught on home video. Alexander was not too far behind but, by the time he was ready to skate, the family had shipped out to Florida when Michael Nylander was traded from the Calgary Flames to the Tampa Bay Lightning halfway though the 1998-1999 season.

For the boys, and especially Alexander who was born in 1998, the connection to the Calgary Flames is a faint memory.
