AJHL squad pays tribute to Ken Bracko ... then looks to continue his work

Just before Saturday night's season-opening puck drop at Max Bell Centre, the Calgary Canucks will mark the end of an era with a banner-raising ceremony saluting the life and efforts of longtime president Ken Bracko.

It will also symbolize a new beginning for the Alberta Junior Hockey League club, which can no longer count on the efforts of Bracko to be the backbone of the organization as he was for more than 30 years.

Bracko's passing last month came mere weeks after the 74-year-old passed the torch to Pat Loyer and a new board of directors poised to try reinvigorating the organization.
