Justin Wilcox sure does know how to work his coaching network. The California Golden Bears head coach is reportedly targeting Nevada offensive line coach Angus McClure for Cal’s own vacancy. FootballScoop first reported the news. Wilcox appears to be set to offer McClure the position.
I first thought Cal would target McClure when Wilcox was first hired, but landing on a coach like Steve Greatwood is a pretty good consolation price. Now on the second go-around, it seems like Wilcox will go with the local coach to keep the Cal offensive line moving in the right direction.
