California Golden Bears alum Jaylen Brown made a decision to come out early, and it paid off. Earlier this week, the NBA awarded him a place on the league’s All-Rookie Second Team. Brown received 24 first-team votes and 106 points to join Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Marquese Chriss (Phoenix Suns), Brandon Ingram (Los Angeles Lakers) and Yogi Ferrell (Dallas Mavericks) on the second team.
Brown was drafted third overall in 2016 by a Boston team that was already pretty deep, so playing time was limited compared to other rookies drafted that high.
