If the Cal football team hopes to replicate last season’s four-win leap and make it to the next level, the Bears will have to rely on improved performances from the defense, and that starts with the linebacking corps.
Cal’s linebackers will look to make the leap from being merely solid to being one of the team’s biggest strengths. Going into the 2014 season, it appeared as if challenges of adapting to new defensive coordinator Art Kaufman’s system and a lack of experience would end up sinking the linebackers. Now, with an extra year of experience under their belt, the linebackers will be expected to do a lot more.
