As is tradition for the California Golden Bears, every five years or so they must land a five star wide receiving talent that eventually becomes the best wide receiver in the conference. First it was Desean Jackson, then Keenan Allen. It feels like Demetris Robertson is right on track to take that mantle for the next two seasons he’s in the league.
Robertson was already one of the best deep threats in his first season at Cal. Despite sharing tons of snaps with a crowded wide receiving corps in the Bear Raid attack, Robertson’s 474 deep receiving yards lead all returning Pac-12 wideouts, beating out Shay Fields of Colorado and Dante Pettis of Washington.
