Cal sophomore Camryn Rogers is the NCAA national champ in w. hammer toss

For the first time since 2008, we have a Cal women’s track and field champion in an event. Sophomore Camryn Rogers, who won the Pac-12 title and then had the best throw at the NCAA West Prelims, is the 2019 NCAA Women’s Hammer Throw national champion!

Rogers won with a throw of 71.50 meters/234 feet, 7 inches to best Indiana State’s senior Erin Reese and UCLA’s sophomore Alyssa Wilson. She set a new personal best which also doubles as a Cal record as well as a Canadian U23 record, besting her Pac-12 championship winning throw of 69.
