Keeping Cal fans on their heels, Coach Wyking Jones went with a new look starting 5, with Don Coleman missing being the most notable change, along with starting the game off with man instead of zone defense. The Bears looked more energized and comfortable on the floor to start than they have all season. Unfortunately, though, Justice Sueing found himself in foul trouble with just before the halfway mark, heading to the bench with 3 fouls. Overall, this looked like the Bears team we expected to see this season, especially Marcus Lee who ended 6-7 from the floor with 13 points and 6 rebounds.
