Cal football NFL Week 16 updates: Alex Mack, Mitchell Schwartz make the playoffs

Two Cal offensive linemen in the league have never seen the NFL playoffs before this year. After years of pain in Cleveland, both Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz found their way onto new teams, and clinched their playoff bids this week with the Atlanta Falcons and the Kansas City Chiefs respectively.

Mack had started 116 games in the NFL, Schwartz 79. Both Atlanta and Kansas City won this weekend.

Stephen Anderson also made the playoffs with the Houston Texans, although he recorded no stats. Cowboys longsnapper LP Ladouceur also clinched his playoff berth awhile ago.

There are several other Golden Bears who can make the playoffs: Trevor Davis, Aaron Rodgers, Richard Rodgers (Green Bay Packers); Marvin Jones (Detroit Lions); Maurice Harris, DeSean Jackson, Nick Sundberg (Washington Redskins); Bryan Anger, Chris Conte (Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
