Survive and advance. That's the mantra when the calendar turns to March. Cal did just that Wednesday afternoon, holding off Oregon State 67-62 in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“We knew it would be tough,” said Cal head coach Cuonzo Martin. “It felt like we were playing with a 15-pound weight vest on our backs, and we found a way to get a win and now we can move forward.”
Coming off back-to-back ugly losses to end the regular season, the Bears needed to regain their confidence.
