Armani Rogers has de-committed from Cal, the three-star quarterback recruit announced Tuesday night on Twitter.
The news came as no major surprise to followers of the Bears’ recruiting trail. In August, Rogers reportedly visited Washington. The Bears, who aim to sign two quarterbacks in their 2016 class, recently offered JUCO prospect Jerod Evans.
This season at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, he has piled up eye-popping numbers: 179 of 287 passes for 3,164 yards and 38 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Cal has also offered Tulane commit Jack Abraham.
Rogers became the Bears’ first commit for 2016 when he provided a verbal pledge in February over offers from Colorado State, Utah and UCLA, among others.
