BOISE — Zach Wilson was perfect and it added up to an easy 49-18 victory over Western Michigan on Friday in the Potato Bowl.
The Cougars’ freshman quarterback competed all 18 of his passes for four touchdowns and 317 yards. He connected with eight different receivers as he carved up the Broncos’ defense. The performance was especially impressive because BYU (7-6) was missing its top three running backs due to injury.
He broke Steve Sarkisian's and Steve Young's school record of 14 straight completions in a single game.
BYU’s defense had three sacks and an interception to slow Western Michigan’s offense.
