Weber County corrections deputy arrested on suspicion of sexual misconduct

A Weber County Sheriff’s deputy working in the county jail has been accused of sexual misconduct, the department announced Thursday.

Cpl. Jeremy Miller was arrested Thursday, about two months after the sheriff’s department opened an internal investigation into his conduct, according to a news release. They declined to release more information on Miller’s alleged behavior, but said he’d been arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of custodial sexual misconduct.

The Utah code defines custodial sexual misconduct as the rape, sexual assault or other sexual misconduct perpetrated against a person in custody by a person who is holding them in custody, such as a correctional or police officer.
