Utah’s Kyler Dunkle tied for fourth place, BYU’s team in last place at NCAA golf championships

University of Utah golfer Kyler Dunkle continued his stellar play at the NCAA golf championships in Fayetteville, Ark., on Saturday and is tied for fourth place after two rounds of play.

Dunkle, a senior who is expected to turn professional soon and join the Canadian Tour, added a 1-under-par 71 in the second round to the 69 he shot in Friday’s first round and stands at 4-under 140.

Meanwhile, BYU’s golfers shot their best round of the tournament on Saturday — a 19-over-par 307 — but still remain in last place.

The Cougars won’t play on Sunday — having played their third round on Thursday — but their 309 from Thursday will be added to the team totals after the other 23 teams’ scores are posted Sunday afternoon.
