Utah soldier killed in Afghanistan in a ‘non-combat related incident'

The Army is investigating the death of a Utah solider who was killed Sunday in Afghanistan in a “non-combat related incident.”

Sgt. 1st Class Elliott J. Robbins, 31, from Ogden, died in the in Helmand Province, according to the Department of Defense. No additional details of the incident, which is “under investigation,” were released.

“A skilled soldier with three combat deployments, Robbins will always be remembered,” said Col. Lawrence G. Ferguson, 10th Group commander, in a statement. “We mourn the tragic passing of Sgt. 1st Class Elliott Robbins. The 10th Special Forces Group has paid a heavy toll in recent days.
