Panelists include: Rep. Lee Perry, a Utah Highway Patrol lieutenant; Sgt. Lisa Pascadlo, peer-support coordinator at the Salt Lake City Police Department; Shante Johnson, spokeswoman for the Utah State Fraternal Order of Police; and Salt Lake City Fire Capt. Mike Stevens, an advocate for better mental health care for firefighters.
The panel discussion was recorded live Thursday evening at a public event at the Salt Lake City main library. It continues an examination of mental health and emotional trauma among law enforcement professionals and first responders launched by a six-part Tribune series titled “Officer in Distress,” and a previous Trib Talk episode about that series and the experience of West Jordan Police Detective Brent Jex.
