PROVO — BYU’s cross-country and track and field teams dominated the annual Y Awards for the 2019-20 sports season.
The school usually makes the Y Awards a high-profile event at the Marriott Center, similar to the Academy Awards in Hollywood, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s winners were announced during an episode of BYU Sports Nation on BYUtv Friday morning.
BYU’s men’s cross-country team, the 2019 national champions, was named the school’s Men’s Team of the Year. The women’s soccer team and women’s cross-country team were named co-winners of the Women’s Team of the Year award.
