Timeline: Dave Rose's playing and coaching basketball career

BYU announced that head men's basketball coach Dave Rose will hold a press conference Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Sources have told the Deseret News that Rose is expected to step down.

Dec. 19, 1957: Born in Houston.

1983: As co-captain of the “Phi Slama Jama” University of Houston men’s basketball team, he helped lead a team that featured future NBA legends Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler to a second-place finish in the NCAA Tournament.

1990: Was named head coach at Dixie College after serving three years as an assistant.
