The Salt Lake Tribune is working on a story about how local attitudes have changed toward the Boy Scouts of America in the wake of major changes, challenges and controversy facing the organization. In recent years, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has ended it's decades-long partnership with Scouting — opting instead to develop its own, internal, youth program — while the organization has faced accusations of failing to protect youth from predatory behavior, and controversy over it's reforms allowing the participation of LGBTQ members and the expansion of gender-inclusive programs.
