St. George police suspect foul play in fire that destroyed LDS church

An preliminary investigation into a fire that burned down a newly built Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints church in St. George revealed signs of possible foul play, FOX 13 reported.

Police said they believe the fire started outside the stake center, and investigators found no signs that heating or electrical issues ignited the blaze.

Two accelerant-detecting dogs brought to the fire found two places where accelerant was present, according to a news release.
