The avalanche occurred east of Coalville just before 1:30 p.m. The snowmobiler’s avalanche beacon notified officials of the avalanche, though members of his party actually pulled him from the snow.
Including this man, at least four have died in avalanches this year in Utah. The last recorded avalanche-related fatality before those deaths was in January 2016.
