PROVO — Jake Ellison hung on to win the Provo Open, defeating amateur Patrick Fishburn by one shot in the 54-hole tournament, which concluded Saturday afternoon at East Bay Golf Course.
Ellison, who led by one shot going into the final round, shot a final-round 70 and finished with a 16-under-par 200 total to capture the professional first prize of $3,500. Davis Garner was second among the pros at 203, while Seokwon Jeon and Zach Johnson tied for third at 206.
Fishburn, a junior-to-be at BYU, coming off a victory at the Salt Lake City Amateur, shot a 68 to finish at 201.
