Police arrest a suspect 11 years after slaying of West Valley City business owner

More than 11 years after a West Valley City man was found dead on the floor of his pool hall, police announced they think they finally know who killed him.

Tri Xuan Phan was last seen Jan. 9, 2007, as he closed up his Vui Vui pool hall, at 1839 W. 3500 South, for the night.

He never made it home, and a friend found his body inside the pool hall on the floor the next day.

Although Phan’s death was apparently preceded by a “violent struggle,” the case eventually went cold.
