Pineview Reservoir reopened Friday after a wildfire forced park officials to close access to recreationists on Thursday.
But Powder Mountain Ski Resort remained under evacuation as the 780-acre “Avon Fire” continued to burn north of Liberty and Eden in Weber County, fire officials said.
Crews were briefly diverted on Friday afternoon to suppress a small fire about a mile north of Utaba Reservoir, but they contained the blaze quickly and returned to the Avon Fire.
Firefighters were digging barriers and dropping water on the fire on Friday, trying to keep the fire north and west of Broadmouth Canyon, east of Avon Divide Road, and south of Public Grove, an area to the west of Powder Mountain.
