On Friday at 9:15 a.m., a Dodge Ram driven by an Oakley man sped west from the parking lot of a Subway sandwich shop on the east side of Highland Drive, crossed the street, hit a curb and flipped on its side, slamming the outside table and killing Joslyn Nicole Spilsbury, 48. The truck then rammed a pillar at the Starbucks at 4744 S. Highland Drive.
Police identified the driver of the truck as West Walker, 34. Initial evidence indicates he might have a medical condition that caused the crash, police reported, but were waiting for the results of a toxicology report before releasing an official cause.
