NFL cuts tracker (updated): Former USU running back Robert Turbin reportedly to be waived as injured by Seahawks

Editor's note: This story will be updated as news becomes available.

Former Utah State Robert Turbin has spent all three of his NFL seasons with Seattle, but it appears other teams will have their chance to snatch him from the Seahawks.

As first reported by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks plan to waive Turbin with an injury designation after the former Aggie suffered a high-ankle sprain in a preseason game against San Diego on Aug. 29. Rapoport reported that the injury would sideline Turbin about five weeks.

Turbin has served as the lead backup to Marshawn Lynch throughout his pro career after being selected by Seattle in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft.
