NCAA Tournament bubble? BYU’s Mark Pope in favor of making Big Dance ‘a safe reality’

Earlier this week, the NCAA announced it is exploring plans to create an NCAA Tournament bubble in Indianapolis, which was already set to host the 2021 Final Four.

That would be in place of staging the Big Dance at 13 host locations scattered around the nation during the pandemic.

“We have learned so much from monitoring other successful sporting events in the last several months, and it became clear it’s not feasible to manage this complex championship in so many different states with the challenges presented by the pandemic,” said Dan Gavitt, NCAA senior vice president of basketball.
