The NCAA has penalized BYU’s men’s basketball program after an investigation revealed that four BYU boosters gave benefits to Nick Emery.
A Division I Committee on Infractions panel found that the boosters gave more than $12,000 in vacations, cash, means, golf and a use of a car to a player.
The NCAA "prescribed" the following penalties to the program:
- 2 years of probation, starting today.
- All records, including wins while the ineligible player participated in are now vacated
- A loss of one scholarship
- Recruiting restrictions
- Disassociation of one of the boosters
- $5,000 fine.
