The NCAA has penalized BYU’s men’s basketball program after an investigation revealed that four BYU boosters gave benefits to Nick Emery.

A Division I Committee on Infractions panel found that the boosters gave more than $12,000 in vacations, cash, means, golf and a use of a car to a player.

The NCAA "prescribed" the following penalties to the program:

  • 2 years of probation, starting today.
  • All records, including wins while the ineligible player participated in are now vacated
  • A loss of one scholarship
  • Recruiting restrictions
  • Disassociation of one of the boosters
  • $5,000 fine.
