Saturday’s late-night Virginia-BYU shootout (halftime score: 42-38 Virginia) began as a showcase for Cavaliers do-everything QB Brennan Armstrong (431 total yards, six TDs, two INTs) but turned into the Tyler Allgeier Show. BYU’s stud running back followed up last week’s 191-yard day at Washington State by carrying 29 times for a career-high 266 yards and five TDs in the Cougars’ runaway 66-49 win.
