Champions!

BYU Women’s Cross Country won their first national championship since 2002 on Monday in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the NCAA National Championships. The championship is the Cougars’ fifth national title.

The final count wasn’t close either, with the Cougars scoring 96 and North Carolina State scoring 161. The Cougars finished second in a close race last year. BYU started out behind, but they closed strong en route to taking home the championship. The meet was broadcast on ESPNU.

The Cougars are also coming off an impressive Indoor Track weekend, with the Distance Medley team placing first at the NCAA Indoor Championships and Courtney Wayment finished first individually in the 3000M.
