Morning links: Van Noy hoping to help Patriots get back to Super Bowl; Jimmer shines in all-star festivities

Former BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who was sidelined for a few games due to injury, returned to action last week and helped the New England Patriots beat the Tennessee Titans. The Pats will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC championship game Sunday.

“I feel like anytime you can get some snaps after being on the bench for a little bit always helps,’’ Van Noy told the Boston Globe. “Just to be out there with the guys and get back into the rhythm of things before the playoffs is going to be huge.’’

Spiral Tropical Bowl

BYU failed to go to a bowl game for the first time since 2004, but two players from that team, safety Micah Hannemann and offensive lineman Tuni Kanuch, participated in the Spiral Tropical Bowl in Daytona, Florida, last Sunday morning.
