Humanity had itself a big win Sunday night.
With just minutes left during the Iowa-Northwestern basketball game, sophomore Hawkeyes guard Jordan Bohannon stepped to the free-throw line with Iowa leading 73-65. His shot came up short, off the front rim, and Bohannon pointed to the sky.
The miss snapped Bohannon’s streak of consecutive free-throw makes at 34, tying him for the school record with former Hawkeye Chris Street.
According to the Des Moines Register, this was a tribute to Street, who never had the chance to extend his streak beyond 34 made free throws when he was killed in a car accident Jan.
