Missouri African-American football players go on strike amid racial tensions; team to play BYU on Saturday

African-American members of the Missouri football team announced through a statement on Twitter Saturday they will not participate in team activities until the school's president resigns or is removed from his office, amid racial tensions at the university.

The statement reads: "The athletes of color on the University of Missouri football team truly believe 'Injustice Anywhere is a threat to Justice Everywhere.' We will no longer participate in any football related activities until President Tim Wolfe resigns or is removed due to his negligence toward marginalized students' experiences. WE ARE UNITED!!!!!"

Missouri plays BYU next Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs.
