Letter: Utah is surely not a democracy

Our legislators have such contempt for the voting public that they think they alone know what is best for us. Even when we vote for something, they have to interpret what we really meant.

With their "superior wisdom," they can alter it to suit themselves, knowing full well they can act with impunity because they have that magic little "R" after their names, the totem that guarantees lifelong security.

I wonder, is Utah a theocracy, an oligarchy or maybe both? Surely we're not a democracy.
