1. Don’t carry your groceries out in plastic bags. Either request paper bags, or bring your own sturdy reusable grocery bags.
2. For other shopping, carry a fabric bag that can be folded up to the size of a small pouch and reused.
3. Find a grocery store that recycles plastic bags. I am not familiar with Salt Lake City, but both Dicks in Centerville and Bountiful have bins for recycling plastic bags. If your favorite grocery store doesn’t have plastic bag recycling, request it!
4. Don’t put plastic bags in recycling bins! Personally, I don’t think recycling plastic bags is Salt Lake City’s responsibility.
