After attending the very moving vigil recently to remember Sandy Hook and other gun violence victims, I opened my newspaper to the editorial page this morning. There I learned that our attorney general, Sean Reyes, has joined his counterparts in 20 other states to support a congressional bill that would force recognition of our concealed carry permits on all the states that have the good sense not to allow the concealed carrying of firearms.
At a time when we should be looking for intelligent and creative ways to bridge our differences on the gun issue and stop the spate of massacres that have become the national norm, this is a giant step backward.
